The Opportunity:

 

Total Batching Solutions (TBS) design and manufacture one of the world’s leading self-erecting, mobile concrete batching plants.  We help international building materials and construction companies reduce their carbon footprint and site costs, when producing concrete on projects ranging from wind farms and tunnels to logistics parks and nuclear power plants.

 

As part of our export growth strategy, we have a fantastic opportunity for the right candidate to join our company on a Graduate to Export Training Programme.  The role will involve investigating the concrete market in the US and Canada and identifying opportunities for TBS, proposing a suitable market entry strategy for our world leading range of products.  Full product and industry training will be provided by TBS before you go out to market.  You will spend 6 months in Northern Ireland before relocating to the United States and Canada for the remaining 12 months.

 

The Graduate to Export training programme provides an excellent way for you to receive a fully funded pathway to secure a Postgraduate Diploma in International Marketing, with the opportunity to continue to Masters level once the Export Programme has completed.  The programme is delivered by Ulster University alongside the Institute of Export and Internatonal Trade who will provide academic mentoring to you for the duration of the Programme.

 

Key activities include: (for US and Canada)

 

  1. Research the market demand for mobile / portable concrete plants versus stationary plant and dry batching versus wet batching. Understand the reasons why each are chosen and determine future demands for each.
  2. Compile a database of potential end users for our mobile concrete batching plant – concrete building material suppliers, construction companies etc.
  3. Compile a database of potential representatives / dealers for our mobile concrete batching plant
  4. Research the competitor environment for mobile concrete batching plants – conduct competitor analysis of local and international competitors who are active in the market
  5. Research the route to market for competitor brands. Identify and connect with dealers from a research perspective and determine pros and cons of a dealer vs direct market entry strategy.

 

 

Graduate Eligibility:

 

Program participants must have:

  • A Pass Degree (ideally in an engineering, business or marketing related discipline)
  • Graduated in the last 5 years
  • A willingness to relocate outside Northern Ireland (foreign language skills are desirable but not essential)
  • Pre-existing legal status to live and work in Northern Ireland
  • Driving License
